The 2023 Mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) Workforce Personnel Survey is now open.
The Department of Health invites individual members of the mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) workforce – whether in a public, community, or private setting – to take part and provide feedback on their experience working in the sector.
Hearing directly from the mental health and AOD workforce will inform what is needed to attract, train, support and retain a workforce for Victoria’s transforming mental health and wellbeing system.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and all responses will be deidentified.
The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System made it clear that the way workforce data is collected needs improvement so it can be used to guide system transformation.
This survey supports long-term, strategic workforce planning to better support integration with the community mental health and AOD sectors.
In 2021, the department conducted the first annual mental health workforce personnel survey which was profiled in Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy 2021-24 and supported the development of the Workforce Capability Framework.
Data collected from the survey will also contribute to supporting the development and implementation of workforce reforms, reflecting the ongoing commitment to supporting Victoria’s mental health and AOD systems.
By participating in the survey, you can win a $50 voucher, with five vouchers allocated to each of the following sectors:
- AOD workforce
- Clinical mental health
- Community mental health
Please take the and help create change so our workforce can continue to support Victorians.
Submissions close 25 August 2023.
