No set timeline defines end of life care but, due to illness or old age, many people will require responsive care as they approach death. High-quality end of life care relies on open communication, informed decision making and collaboration among healthcare providers, families and carers.

This page provides information about end of life care for Victorians. This includes options for supporting decision making and information about appropriate care. Everyone’s needs are different at the end of their life and people should be provided with care that is consistent with their preferences and values.
