Making a complaint

If you have a concern about the care provided by a mental health and wellbeing service, you are encouraged to speak directly to the team who cared for you. Concerns can be raised by individuals, carers, families or friends.

Each health service has a local patient liaison officer who can be contacted with complaints or feedback.

Find out how to submit complaints or feedback by asking the staff who treated you or by visiting the health service website.

If you feel your concerns have not been met, a complaint can be lodged with the Mental Health and Wellbeing CommissionExternal Link .

If you wish to contest a compulsory treatment, a hearing can be requested at the Mental Health TribunalExternal Link .
