A new online parenting program to support emerging mental health and wellbeing challenges

The Victorian Government is investing in a new online parenting program to better support families with children with emerging mental health and wellbeing needs.

The program is for parents of children from birth to 11 years with needs beyond the scope of traditional parenting supports, and focuses on resilience building and positive parenting techniques.

The program will be available statewide and give parents greater access to early intervention support. It will equip parents with the right skills to respond positively and effectively to early mental health challenges and contribute to good emotional wellbeing and development of children.

A service provider or consortium will be appointed through an open call for submission to design and deliver the new program. The Department will work with the successful provider(s) to ensure that the program is accessible, safe and inclusive for all Victorian families.

The new online parenting program will commence before the end of 2022.

Funding submission details can be found on the Buying for Victoria websiteExternal Link

Submissions close on Thursday 9 June 2022.

This program is part of a range of graduated parenting supports recommended by the Royal Commission that are matched to family needs and circumstances, and the developmental stage of the child.

A public information session on the call for submission will be held on 19 May 2022.
