We are so lucky to be in this hospital. You can really appreciate just how state of the art and new and exciting the facilities are and it just makes it so much easier for us to provide excellent patient care. Working with kids is amazing, they are just so resilience and bounce back even though they might be feeling so unwell. Oh, can’t even explain how important it is to have nurse-patient ratios. They notice how much time you have to spend in their rooms and just seeing how their day is and how they’re genuinely feeling.

That’s a really important side of nursing as well and if you didn’t get that time then I don’t think they’d feel valued and listened to.

Nurse Elise from the Royal Children's Hospital talks about the importance of nurse to patient ratios.
