This booth provides an opportunity for mental health services to promote their graduate programs, meet potential graduates, offer information for qualified nurses seeking a career change into mental health and to provide information to Division 2 nurses seeking to specialise in mental health. Secondary students interested in a nursing career also attend this popular event.

CPN Website Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Scholarship Program

The Department of Health and Human Services offers scholarships of up to $3,000 for registered nurses working in the Victorian public clinical mental health sector to support postgraduate study in mental health nursing and assist in the transition from generalist to specialist mental health nursing, and to build the capabilities required to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and consumer-centred care.

Psychiatric state enrolled nurse study leave placements

The Victorian Psychiatric Services Enterprise Bargaining Agreement provides for two weeks of clinical placement study leave for psychiatric state enrolled nurses (PSEN) undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing. The department funds a limited number of placements at $2,717 per person. The funding is available to public mental health services to meet the cost of study for PSENs who require study leave to undertake a clinical placement in Semester 1.
