Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Scholarships are now open

Mental health nurses and Lived and Living Experience (LLE) workers across Victoria can now apply for scholarships to support further study and career development through the Victorian Government’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Scholarship Program.

Applications open on 15 September 2026 and close at 4 pm on 27 October 2026 for courses commencing in Semester 2, 2026 and Semester 1, 2027.

The program supports Victoria’s ongoing mental health reform agenda by helping to build a skilled, sustainable workforce that can meet the needs of consumers, families, carers and supporters. It also provides opportunities for workers to strengthen their capabilities and progress their careers.

Scholarships available in 2026–27 include:

• Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Scholarships ($3,000) to contribute towards the cost of postgraduate study.
• Full Course Fee Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Scholarships, covering eligible tuition fees up to $23,000.
• Lived and Living Experience Workforce University Scholarships of up to $13,000 to support leadership and capability development.

The nursing scholarship streams are administered by the Department of Government Services Whole of Victoria Government Grants Centre on behalf of the Victorian Government.

The LLE stream is administered by The Collective, a consortium of partner organisations including SHARC, Harm Reduction Victoria, CLEW Network, Tandem and VMIAC.
