Victorian guidelines for registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners

Expanding the role of registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners (ATSIHPs) to administer vaccines provides greater access to immunisation services for Aboriginal people living in Victoria.

The ‘Victorian Guidelines for the administration of vaccines by registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners’ describe the requirements of the program, and will support registered ATSIHP immunisers to provide safe, high quality immunisation services in partnership with their instructing medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, authorised midwife, or supervising experienced nurse immuniser. Compliance with the most current version of these guidelines is essential, as outlined in the Secretary Approval for registered ATSIHP immuniser (pp. 11-14)External Link .
