For the first time, the Department of Health is bringing together around 400 leaders from right across the health sector to shape a vision of change for the future of the Victorian health system.

The 2023 Victorian Health Sector Summit will host representatives from all corners of the health system including: consumer and patient voices, medical colleges, peak bodies, industrial partners, the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector, non-government organisations (NGOs), service providers and regulators, as well as federal and state governments.

Leaders from a range of fields including health services, mental health, research and innovation, education and training, community health and primary care will be there to challenge thinking and embrace change.

The sector will come together to shape a 10-year vision of change that places the person at the centre and meets the diverse health and wellbeing needs of Victorians.

Professor Euan Wallace AM, Secretary of the Department of Health said: “It has never been more important for us to challenge ourselves, inspire new thinking and truly put the consumer at the heart of our health system.”

We want Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world – and the Summit is an important step in getting there. But it’s only the start of our work on the future of health and care in Victoria.
