Victorian secondary school students' use of licit and illicit substances in 2008

In 2008, the ninth survey in a series assessing the prevalence of alcohol and tobacco use among Victorian secondary school students was conducted. This survey was part of a national study assessing substance use among secondary school students. It was first conducted in 1984 and collected information on tobacco and alcohol use, and it has been repeated at three-yearly intervals since then. The protocol for the 2008 survey was the same as that followed in previous years. The project was coordinated by The Cancer Council Victoria's Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer. In this report, data is provided on the use of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, inhalants and a number of other illicit substances among secondary school students in Victoria.
