Septic tanks in flood affected areas

Floods may affect your septic tank system. If you live in a flood-affected area and floodwaters have affected your property, your septic tank system (also known as an onsite wastewater system) may also be affected. Do not use or flush your toilet until you know that the septic tank system is intact.
