Long-acting Injectable Buprenorphine (LAIB) is an established treatment option for opioid dependence in Australia. LAIB is administered as subcutaneous injections at weekly or monthly intervals, based on an individual's treatment needs and clinical judgement.
The Victorian clinical guidelines support prescribers and pharmacists to safely prescribe, administer and manage LAIB treatment within the Victorian regulatory framework for Schedule 8 medicines.
