Engaging the sector in clinical practice improvement: a Palliative Care Clinical Network initiative

Clients of palliative care services should have access to a high-quality palliative care service system that promotes evidence-based practice. The Palliative Care Clinical Network (PCCN) was established by the Victorian Department of Health in August 2010 to provide clinical leadership in implementing policy directions, service delivery frameworks and program initiatives. The PCCN's focus is to ensure a statewide innovative approach to providing quality care. The Department of Health funded existing statewide service providers with expertise relevant to each priority to develop a project framework that maintained engagement with the PCCN and the sector.
