The overarching purpose of the framework is to facilitate sustainable health and wellbeing outcomes for clients and service users. It achieves this by increasing transparency and collaboration between service providers and the department, and by promoting efficiency and effectiveness. An efficient, effective system ensures that as many people as possible are able to access the services they need.
The framework has two parts:
- Part 1 provides a set of performance management guidelines outlining the steps that the department will take to manage service provider performance.
- Part 2 describes the performance indicators that will be used in the short term and the steps that the department will take to develop and implement a detailed suite of indicators in the medium to long term.
