Honour for Chris Brook
Professor Brook received the
international award ‘in recognition of his vital role in building the global
influence of ISQua and securing funding for the establishment of the first
international office in Melbourne.
‘The stability achieved through
continuing support of ISQua in Australia over a 10-year period facilitated both
growth and consolidation,’ the citation said.
Professor Brook was presented
with the award at the 26th International ISQua Conference in Dublin,
Ireland.
‘This is well-deserved
recognition for his tireless efforts over nearly two decades,’ said Department
of Health Secretary Fran Thorn.
ISQua is an organisation
dedicated to driving continual improvement in the quality and safety of
healthcare worldwide through education, research, collaboration and the
dissemination of evidence-based knowledge.
Professor Brook has a long history of service with the ISQua with stints as a board member from 1993–2001 and President from 1997–1999.
