Panel artwork in gardens jpeg
The three-piece Aboriginal art panel.

Panel pieces unite organisations

An Aboriginal artwork has cemented the relationship between Robinvale District Health Services, Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative and Robinvale College.

The three-panel piece tells the story of life through health.

The dominant feature is the snake wrapped around a spear.

This is reminiscent of the rod of Asclepius which is commonly identified as a symbol of health, healthcare or medicine.

The artwork also features three children represented by three dot or circles.

The number signifies the three organisations involved.

The uniting theme across the three panels is the Murray River representing water, food and life.

Each organisation developed a single panel, drawing inspiration from traditional aboriginal symbolism and artwork.

The artwork was unveiled at Robinvale District Health Services.

Identical panels are installed at MVAC and Robinvale College sites.
