Our Ministers

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced Jenny Mikakos as Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services in the new State Government.

Ms Mikakos will deliver the Government’s hospital building program and roll out the Free School Dental Program.

And the Health and Ambulance portfolio will now include Maternal and Child Health and Early Parenting, transitioned from the Department of Education and Training.

Martin Foley will continue as the Minister for Mental Health and will oversee Australia’s first Royal Commission into Mental Health.

As Minister for Ageing and Carers Luke Donnellan will give a greater voice to hard-working carers, who will have a dedicated Minister for the first time.

Ms Mikakos was elected to the Legislative Council in 1999.

She has been the Minister for Families and Children and Minister for Youth Affairs since 2014 and Minister for Early Childhood Education since 2017.

She was also responsible for youth justice in the Department of Justice and Regulation.

Ms Mikakos holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

Mr Foley has been a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2007.

He has been Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing, Minister for Mental Health, Minister for Equality and Minister for Creative Industries since 2014.

Mr Foley was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (history and politics) in 1987 from Monash University and received a Master of Commerce in 2000 from the University of Melbourne.

Mr Donnellan has been a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2002.

He has been Minister for Roads and Road Safety and Minister for Ports since 2014.

He received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 1987.
