From 2020 we will celebrate our Health Volunteers as part of our Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. There will not be a stand-alone Health Volunteer Awards ceremony.
This will give more prominence to how we recognise our volunteers and show that they are not separate to our healthcare sector, but an essential part of how we care for the health of vulnerable Victorians.
There will be two categories for volunteers in the Victorian Public Healthcare this year:
- the Health Volunteer Awards - 'Health Volunteer/Team of the Year' and
- the Health Volunteer Honour Roll
The Health Volunteer Awards will have its own set of criteria by which winners will be judged. This will provide a broader scope allowing nominations for any kind of volunteer contribution. Finalists for this category will be invited to attend the gala evening.
There are other volunteer awards in Victoria that you might be interested in, including the Premier’s Volunteer Champion Awards and the Volunteering Victoria State Awards.
Previous winners of the Minister for Health Volunteer Awards
The Minister for Health Volunteer Awards were established to celebrate and honour the work performed by individual and team-based health volunteers.
