Mental health care: Framework for emergency department services provides direction for delivery of emergency mental health care in Victoria’s public hospital emergency departments (EDs).

The framework assists health services to:

• plan appropriate emergency department care for people who present with mental health needs
• promote service coordination and collaboration between specialist mental health services
• and emergency departments
• promote best-practice management and care coordination.
