2002 training program for aboriginal alcohol and drug workers - final report

A 1997 review highlighted the complex role of Koori Drug and Alcohol Workers and Koori Community Alcohol and Drug Resource Service Workers, and the need for training to enable them to undertake their role. This was particularly important given that most of the workers had come to their positions without structured formal training. The aim of the program as specified in the tender contract was to increase the level of skills of the workers who work within the Victorian Aboriginal Community on issues relating to the abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
