The Manual for Victorian Class B Cemetery Trusts contains information to help Class A cemetery trusts understand and meet their responsibilities and legislative obligations under the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003, the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2015 and other relevant Victorian and Australian law.
The manual has been developed in consultation with the Cemeteries and Crematoria Association of Victoria, the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority and the legal services, industrial relations, human resources and financial services branches of the department.
The manual is for general use and is not intended to constitute formal legal advice or be a definitive guide to the law and operations of a cemetery trust. It is not a substitute for professional advice and does not take the individual needs and circumstances of cemetery trusts into consideration.
