Consultation now open to develop Victoria’s new suicide prevention and response strategy

The new Victorian suicide prevention and response strategy will build an evidence-informed, systems-based, whole-of-government and community-wide approach to suicide prevention and response.

The strategy will present a vision we can work towards as a community, principles, priority areas to focus our attention and actions and initiatives that will address and reduce the risk of suicide, developed in partnership with the Victorian community.

Anybody with an interest in contributing to the strategy, including people with lived experience of suicidal thoughts and behaviours, their families, carers and supporters, and people working in the suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing sector, are being invited to contribute to the consultation process.

The content of the strategy will also be informed by a series of co-design workshops and roundtable discussions with people with lived experience and their carers and families, people bereaved by suicide, sector experts and priority groups,

The consultation process will run until 29 August 2022.

Visit the Engage Victoria website to find out more about how to participate.
