The scholarships are available to mental health nurses working in Victoria who are enrolled or intending to enrol in an eligible postgraduate course in semester one, 2022.
Mental health nurses are registered nurses who specialise in mental health and are the largest workforce in Victoria's mental health system. They work across a range of health settings, caring for people who experience mental ill health or psychological distress, and support them towards recovery.
The scholarship program aims to develop the nursing workforce with specialty skills to care for Victorians experiencing mental illness or psychological distress.
These scholarships are being offered alongside the Victorian postgraduate mental health nurse scholarships, which cover full course fees.
The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) administers the scholarship program on behalf of the Department of Health.
Applications close at midnight on 24 January 2022.
