Guidance to support the delivery of integrated treatment, care and support

The Department of Health has published Integrated treatment, care and support for people with co-occurring mental illness and substance use or addiction: Guidance for Victorian mental health and wellbeing and alcohol and other drug services (the Guidance).

The Guidance was developed with the participation and expertise of people with lived and living experience of mental illness and substance use or addiction, workers and service providers. It provides a shared vision, principles and expectations of service providers, to ensure people with co-occurring needs and their families and supporters receive comprehensive and integrated treatment, care and support that best meets their needs, strengths and preferences.

The Guidance is supported by a reader friendly summary and illustrative stories that bring to life the future experiences of people with co-occurring needs and their families and supporters.

An accompanying Workplan: Integrated treatment, care and support describes how related system reforms intersect with, promote and contribute to the delivery of integrated treatment, care and support.

See the Guidance, Workplan and other supporting documents on the Recommendation 35 page.
