Victoria was notified of 183 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All were locally acquired cases.
There are 1,417 active cases in Victoria – 1,414 locally acquired and three overseas acquired cases.
There are 89 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 24 cases are in intensive care and 13 cases are on a ventilator.
The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 22,942.
Vaccines
Yesterday, 29,950 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria’s state-commissioned services yesterday.
The total number of doses administered through these services is 2,583,499.
Victoria is less than 350,000 doses away from meeting its target of one million vaccines administered in five weeks.
Around 39,000 vaccination bookings were made yesterday.
Over the next seven days, there are more than 11,000 first dose AstraZeneca appointments and more than 2,000 first dose Pfizer appointments available.

Priority vaccination access for final year students
From Tuesday 7 September until Sunday 19 September a priority vaccination program is in place to ensure our senior students can sit year 12 exams with certainty.
The Department of Health and the Department of Education are working directly with schools.
Year 12 students will be able to call and book an appointment from Monday 6 September. Year 11 students who are sitting unit 3 and 4 exams can call from Wednesday 8 September.
Students and parents will receive the advice on how to arrange a booking through their schools.

Of the 183 local cases, 101 have been linked to current cases and outbreaks.

Of Victoria’s active cases:
- 216 are aged between 0 and 9
- 232 are aged between 10 and 19
- 348 are aged between 20 and 29
- 245 are aged between 30 and 39
There are currently more than 11,600 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.
At midday today, there were more than 1000 published exposure sites in Victoria.

There may be occasions when the Department is unable to make contact with the business or residential premises before their listing as an exposure site. At all times, we take the decision of when to publish these sites in the interests of public health.
The Department regularly manages exposure sites that it doesn’t publish online, particularly if these sites represent lower-risk exposures, or if they have comprehensive record-keeping and contact tracing measures, or if they identify small, private locations – including smaller apartment or townhouse complexes.
Testing
48,487 tests were processed in Victoria yesterday.
Getting tested as soon as you have symptoms will help health authorities to identify new positive cases and provide proper care for your family.
