Victoria was notified of 1 new case of coronavirus yesterday, a returned international traveller in hotel quarantine.

The new case is a man aged in his 30s.

Update: QR codes

Victorians will notice a change when they check in at a venue with the Service Victoria app.

From Tuesday morning, patrons will be asked to also provide their last name.

This change is all about making sure the data accessible to our contact tracers is as comprehensive as possible in the event that a venue is declared an exposure site. The change also brings Victoria in line with other states.

Most Victorians who have already downloaded the Service Victoria app won’t need to do anything except enter their surname next time they use the app.

If you use an older version of the app, you will be prompted to download an update and we encourage you to do so.

Remember, your information is deleted 28 days after check-in, unless it is required by contact tracers.

For more information on the free Victorian Government QR Code Service, visit About the free Victorian Government QR Code Service.

Update: Wollert COVID-19 case

Public health teams continue to manage the contacts of the COVID-19 case in Victoria that was acquired interstate.

All three of the individual’s household primary close contacts have been tested, have returned negative results and remain in isolation. In addition:

  • 42 patrons and staff who attended the Curry Vault CBD exposure site are currently identified as primary close contacts.
  • 15 people who attended the Pact Altona North exposure site are currently identified as primary close contacts.

All of these primary close contacts have been tested and returned negative results.

Victorian public health authorities have re-classified Indiagate Spices and Grocery Epping as a Tier 2 site, requiring contacts to isolate until they receive a negative result.

This decision was made following a detailed assessment of the transmission risks of this site.

All 30 primary close contacts linked the site have returned negative results and will be released from their quarantine.

On Friday public health authorities re-classified Woolworths Epping as a Tier 2 site.

The Department is publishing expected wait times at testing sites as well as updated information about locations and hours of operation at Where to get tested.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 – such as fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, chills or sweats, or change in sense of smell or taste – get a test immediately.
