Victoria was notified of six new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.
Two cases are locally acquired and linked to the current outbreak. Four cases are international travellers in hotel quarantine.
There were four COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria yesterday.
There are 64 active cases in Victoria – 46 are locally acquired and 18 are overseas acquired cases.
The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 20,665.
Update: Outbreaks
The two new locally-acquired cases are children – one is a contact linked to Reservoir cases announced Thursday, and one is a contact linked to a case in the City of Melbourne announced Saturday.
No community exposure is associated with these cases during their infectious period.
Public health teams investigating the unlinked case announced Saturday have determined transmission likely occurred in a shared facility within a low-rise townhouse and apartment complex in the City of Melbourne.
Yesterday, the Department contacted the registered owners of residences in the complex to inform them of the potential transmission.
Most residents at this private residential setting will be managed as Tier 2 contacts – with a further number closely associated with the shared facilities to be required to quarantine for 14 days.
Department of Health specialist nurses have been on site today working with residents, and a pop up testing facility was established across the road by 9am. More than 100 tests have been conducted so far.
In relation to other investigations, contact tracers are also focusing in on an industrial precinct in Thomastown just south of the Metropolitan Ring Rd.
There have been ten public and private exposure sites within this precinct – some are published online, some have since expired past their 14 days exposure period, and some are smaller private settings.
While this precinct is not an exposure site, the Department wishes to remind everyone who has worked in the precinct – or who regularly delivers goods and services there – to stay vigilant for symptoms and get tested if they have, or are, experiencing them.
The number of exposure sites published online at 12:00pm today was 132.

The Department also manages a number of exposure sites that it doesn’t publish online, particularly if these sites represent lower-risk exposures, if they have comprehensive record keeping and contact tracing measures in place, or if they identify small, private locations.
Exposure sites are regularly reviewed based on intelligence and evidence, following case interviews.
Update: Vaccinations
Yesterday 13,764 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria’s state-commissioned services.
This brings the total number of vaccine doses administered at state-commissioned services to 797,472.
Over 1.7 million doses have been administered across state, general practice and Commonwealth programs.
This week, vaccination centres are focusing on administering second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the large number who came forward to receive their first dose from three weeks prior.
Around 50,000 people have booked in for their first Pfizer dose this week – the maximum number of first doses which can be administered while also delivering second doses for others who need it.
Every first dose booking already in the system for this coming week will proceed.

The Victorian Government is also calling on eligible healthcare workers to join its growing workforce at high-volume vaccination sites.
Eligible workers are encouraged to register their interest at COVID-19 vaccine program .
Update: Testing
Only through extensive testing can we be certain we are rapidly identifying all COVID-19 cases in Victoria.
Yesterday 16,932 tests were processed.

Update: Eased restrictions
Victoria’s eased restrictions are now in place.
In metropolitan Melbourne, face masks must be worn indoors and outdoors, unless in a private home or unless an exception applies. You cannot have visitors to your home unless they are your intimate partner or single social bubble buddy.
You also cannot travel more than 25km from your home or travel to regional Victoria except for work, study, care, or to visit your nearest vaccination centre.
If there is an emergency you are allowed to leave home – this includes if you have lost power in your home due the recent extreme weather, you are allowed to leave and stay with family or friends.
All categories of elective surgery will recommence in metropolitan Melbourne from tomorrow.
Different restrictions are in place in regional Victoria. You can have up to two adults visit your home per day. Face masks are mandatory indoors, and outdoors where you cannot maintain 1.5m from others. You can see friends and family outdoors in a public place in a group of up to 20 people.
