Victoria has recorded no new cases of coronavirus since yesterday and there are no cases currently active.
This is the 42nd straight day where Victoria has recorded zero daily cases. There were no new deaths.
A total of 3,673,164 test results have been received in Victoria which is an increase of 9760 since yesterday.
It remains vitally important that any Victorians with any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, stay home and get tested. Testing site details, including opening hours,are available on the Where to get tested page.
A permit is required to enter Victoria from South Australia unless an exemption applies. Based on current COVID exposure dates in South Australia, this requirement will end at 11.59pm tomorrow, Saturday 12 December. Permits are available until then from the Service Victoria website.
Operational changes have been made at Melbourne Airport to coincide with the return of international arrivals.
Given South Australian has had zero cases in the past 12 days, and arrivals from South Australia present a significantly lower risk, we have moved to a spot check system for those flights, ensuring the international arrival schedule for the Covid Quarantine Victoria program is not impacted.
This is also in line with the removal of the border and voluntary testing at the road checks. To date the voluntary testing scheme of travellers from SA has not received one positive result.
