Clinical Skills and Simulation
Clinical Skills Centres in Hospitals
The Clinical Skills Centres in Hospitals Project has focussed on three areas – training clinical educators to teach clinical skills; development of training modules for a variety of applications (life support, respiratory skills, intravenous therapy etc); and the literature review examined current research into the area of simulation-based training.
Train-the-Trainer
The Train-the-Trainer package focuses on providing training materials to train clinical educators to teach clinical skills to health professionals in Victoria, including through the use of simulation.

Clinical Skills Literature Review and Research Project
The literature review covers the current roles for simulation and clinical skills training. A second stage will involve a research project to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation on learning a defined clinical skill.
Clinical Skills Strategy
The department recognises the need to develop a strategic direction for clinical skills and simulation in Victoria. This will be achieved through a specific project in this area.
More details will follow later in 2009 and will be made available on this webpage.
