About the women's health & wellbeing strategyThe Victorian women's health and wellbeing strategy is now in its second stage. The Strategy establishes the Government’s commitment to improving women’s health and wellbeing, with particular attention to the links between gender, diversity and disadvantage. Stage 1 of the Strategy ran for four years from 2002 and celebrated 160 women’s health and wellbeing initiatives across the range of Department of Human Services (DHS) programs. In September 2006, the Minister for Health launched Stage 2 of the Victorian Women's Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2006-2010. The second stage of the Strategy draws on the experience and achievements of Stage One, but signals a refined approach. It outlines the Government’s key strategic directions for improving the health and wellbeing of Victorian women over the period 2006-2010.
