Overview

This study was commissioned by the Diversity Unit of the Victorian Department of Human Services (the department). It comprises a literature review and summary of statistical data relevant to the health and wellbeing of Victorian women. Its role is to provide background and context for the second iteration of the department's Women’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy (WHWS).

This report builds on the range of issues identified in the "Victorian Women's Health and Wellbeing Strategy Policy Statement and Implementation Framework 2002–2006", with a particular focus on emerging issues based on more recent research and located within a broader policy context.
