For parents

This page has been designed for parents to gain a better understanding of all the issues faced with when you have a child who requires rehabilitation.

We hope that this website will improve your knowledge and confidence around your child’s illness, the hospitalisation and rehabilitation process, future health needs and other issues such as schooling and peer relationships.

We aim to provide you information that is easy to understand and will help you and your family and friends to cope with this often difficult situation. This is all part and parcel of the healing process.

Association for Children with a Disability
This is the site of an information, support and advocacy organisation for children with a disability and their families based in Victoria, Australia.  It is largely run by parents of children with a disability and covers a variety of types of disability.  It has some excellent resources about advocacy and sibling support.
Brain Foundation
This  is a not for profit organisation that provides information and a range of support to people and families living with the effects Acquired Brain Injury. They also provide information about headache and migraine.  There will be links to a guide called “Growing up with ABI: a guide for parents and caregivers.”
