Award Categories

Organisations may choose to nominate an individual volunteer or team of volunteers. Nominations could be for long term commitment and achievement, an outstanding success, or action above and beyond the call of duty. Each health service can nominate up to two individuals and two teams from their organisation.

Outstanding achievement by an individual volunteer

Awards will be given to outstanding volunteers from:

• A metropolitan health service
• A rural health service
• A regional health service
• A primary health service

Outstanding achievement by a volunteer team*

Awards will be given to outstanding volunteer teams from:

• A metropolitan health service
• A rural health service
• A regional health service
• A primary health service

*This category recognises volunteers working together as a team, such as a fundraising group or a group of volunteers providing similar duties such as a team of volunteer drivers, it is not intended to be a ‘whole of organisation’ volunteer team award.
