DVA Contract Management

DHS manages a central contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the provision of the full range of Victorian public hospital services to Veteran patients according to their entitlement. DHS also promotes awareness of special Veteran needs within the public hospital system.

Veteran Quality And Substitution Project Funding

In accordance with the Hospital Services Arrangement between the Commonwealth and Victoria for the treatment and care of eligible veterans in Victorian Funded Hospitals the Department will provide funding for projects in 2004-05 that target veterans and that contribute to specific new models of care and service development. A pool of initiative funding is available for programs or projects that promote practical use of research evidence on effectiveness of health care.
