Grampians Clinical Placement Network

The Grampians Clinical Placement Network (CPN) has been established to support clinical education activities in Victoria’s west.

All health service providers within the Grampians CPN boundaries are automatic members of network. All education providers that access student clinical placements within the network are also members.

The Grampians CPN is led by a Committee that is representative of the CPN’s membership base. The Committee members represent the different sectors involved in clinical education in the CPN.

The CPN is also supported by the work of a dedicated Coordinator.

Grampians CPN student accommodation project

In 2011, the Grampians CPN was funded to undertake a project to provide low cost, safe and well-equipped accommodation to all healthcare students in the network.

In April 2012, the Department of Health made additional funds available to rural CPNs for further investment in accommodation and infrastructure. The Grampians CPN committee has consequently submitted a proposal that aims to improve student accommodation, particularly in rural and remote health organisations, so that student placements can be utilised fully in these areas.

The Grampians CPN committee expresses its thanks to all education providers and health services that provided assistance in bringing this submission together. The outcome of the proposal will be announced in June 2012.
The Grampians CPN distributes a regular member newsletter.
