Membership of VCCAMMChairman: A/Prof. Larry McNicol - 5 April 2005 Emeritus Consultant: Dr Patricia Mackay Confidential Project Officer: Zenaida Magtoto Section 24 of the Health Act 1958 which relates to the operation of Consultative Councils was revised in 1996 to provide for co-option, with approval of the Minister, of additional members from time to time where special expertise may be required. Such co-opted members are bound by the same rules of confidentiality, as are Council members. Provision was also made to enable the Council to distribute other documents, such as the information bulletin, in addition to the formal reports. Nominated Representatives Since establishment in 1976 there have been changes in membership and the current membership comprises: The Chairperson, a specialist anaesthetist nominated by The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, recommended by the Minister and appointed by Cabinet - A/Prof. Larry McNicol 16 specialist anaesthetists nominated by:
6 representatives nominated by: Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine/Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society - Vacant Royal Australasian College of Surgeons - Dr Michael Dobson The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine – Dr Shelley Robertson Australasian College for Emergency Medicine - Dr Gino Toncich Royal Australian College of General Practitioners - Dr Angelina Salamone Department of Human Services - Dr Michael Ackland Members are appointed for three years. Meeting Dates - 2009All meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month (except in January - no meeting). Location: To be advised on a monthly basis. Please refer to meeting agendas. Meetings commence at 4:30 p.m and conclude at 6:30/7:00 p.m.
