Adult Retrieval Victoria: 1300 36 86 61

Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) is an operational unit of Ambulance Victoria. It is responsible for:

  • Trauma Advice and Referral Line: 1300 36 86 61.  
    Until 2008 the Trauma Advice and Referral Line was the single point of entry to the Victorian State Trauma System for clinicians. ARV is now responsible for the trauma advice line and provides a comprehensive management and coordination service for clinicians treating trauma patients. This includes:
    • telephone advice. Specialist critical care coordinators will advise on the care of critically ill patients 24 hours a day
    • retrieval of critical and time-critical patients. The practicality and clinical need for retrieval is evaluated and if necessary retrieval will be organised with appropriate clinical staff and transport arranged
    • bed coordination. Coordinate access to critical care beds across the state when required

Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service     (03) 9345 5211

The Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS)  provides advice to clinicians and transfers critically ill children from hospitals throughout Victoria, Tasmania, and southern New South Wales to the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.

Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS) and Perinatal Emergency Referral Service (PERS) 1300 13 76 50

The Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS) is a statewide 24-hour service providing advice to clinicians on the care and emergency transport of sick newborns.
