Overview

Whilst many individual board members grasp the tangibles of clinical governance, finance, strategy etc, it is the intangibles of teamwork and personal relationships that typically make the difference in governance effectiveness.

The Team Building workshop aims to provide boards with a safe forum to expose and identify the team issues that are either contributing to or alternatively inhibiting them from working effectively together.

This workshop is not designed for boards that are in crisis – it is designed to hone the teamwork of all health service boards.

The objectives of the Team Building workshops are:

• To identify the key challenges that the board is facing
• To provide board members with an opportunity to explore how their board can work more effectively as a team to meet these challenges
• To identify any gap between where they are and where they need to be as a team
• To agree how the team will work better together, and how each individual board member will make a difference to the performance of the board as a whole.

Team building workshops are scheduled on demand.

Each workshop caters for 12-15 people, with at least 4 from any participating board. If you can get 12 or more people together (from one to three boards), Nous will work with you to schedule a workshop.

Your Department of Human Services regional office can assist you to get boards together to run a workshop. The regional office can also assist if your board is in crisis.
