About Albury Wodonga Health

The road to integration began in 2001, when the New South Wales and Victorian Governments jointly agreed that the two states would move to establish a single health service for the Albury Wodonga community.

The formation of Albury Wodonga Health is the result of a long standing commitment by both Governments to meet the changing needs of the border community. Extensive collaboration has been undertaken by the two state health systems to prepare for the new integrated health service.

Integration will remove existing artificial barriers and ensure the continued delivery of quality health care services in the region.

Activities to progress integration will proceed during 2009. Important milestones will be the establishment of the new health service and the appointment of the Chairperson and Board of Albury Wodonga Health.
