Public health research project funding 2004-05
In August 2004, the Public Health Group advertised for Expressions of Interest (EoI) relating to research proposals in the areas of Communicable Disease, Non-Communicable (chronic) Disease and Health Inequalities/Social Determinants of Health. Overall 72 submissions were received resulting in strong competition. The selection was conducted in 2 stages. Twenty-four short listed applications from the EoI process were invited to submit full research proposals which were subjected to internal and external review.
Sixteen projects have been awarded funding totalling $1.04 million and are listed below:
