The scholarship applies to all Victorian Universities.
The Public Health Branch of the Department of Human Services is calling for applications from Indigenous Australians who are intending to undertake an eligible postgraduate study program in public health (e.g. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, PhD, professional doctorate). A limited number of scholarships are offered each year for eligible applicants. Relevant fields of research are: health sciences, public health and health services.
Financial value and details
The Scholarship currently provides an allowance of $12,735 (part-time students) to $25,470 (full-time students) per annum. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the duration of the course.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; AND
- Reside in Victoria; AND
- Be enrolled to study at a Victorian University in a relevant course.
Selection of successful applicants will be based on the following criteria: past academic results, work-related achievements in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, the community reference and the applicant's potential to improve public health research capacity and evidence-based practice in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Applications must read and accept the conditions outlined in the 'Guidelines for Applicants' and complete an application form, both of which are available on the Scholarship page on the Department of Human Services website.
