Use licence public register
Section 138 of the Radiation Act 2005 allows the Secretary to publish and maintain a public register of use licences on the internet. This register allows a person to search for either a radiation licence number or person’s name to check the status of their radiation licence.
The following details will be published:
- Title, First name and surname of the use licence holder;
- The use licence number;
- The expiry date of the use licence;
- The purpose of the licence;
- The radiation source authorised to be used;
- Licence status.
Note that the details of a use licence holder will only remain on this register for a maximum period of three months after the date of expiry.
The public register excludes any use licences issued for the following purposes:
- borehole logging
- industrial radiography
- measurement of moisture content and/or density of materials.
Approved tester public register
The department maintains a list of the approved testers who are available to test radiation sources on a fee for service basis.
This list will be updated continuously as new testers are approved. Management licensees with prescribed equipment need to contact an approved tester and arrange an appointment for their equipment to be tested.
