NICS-VQC FellowshipWhat is the NICS Fellowship Program? The National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) Fellowship Program provides the opportunity for future health care leaders to develop their knowledge and expertise in closing gaps between evidence and clinical practice. It aims to assist the development of future leaders by enabling clinicians to learn the science and practice of evidence implementation, whilst undertaking a project that aims to bridge an evidence-practice gap. Fellowship includes:
The NICS-VQC Fellowship is a particular fellowship award co-sponsored by the VQC and is to support a clinician undertaking an evidence implementation project in a Victorian health care setting. The co-sponsoring of the NICS-VQC Fellowship is aligned with VQC's objectives to enhance clinical leadership and a criterion is that the implementation project aligns with the VQC Strategic plan. 2006 NICS-VQC Fellowship has been awarded to: Dr Melanie Benson, a Consultant Physician specialising in Palliative Medicine at Peter MacCallum, is undertaking a project to improve the management of cancer patients’ pain. Dr Benson’s implementation project is titled ‘Improving the management of cancer pain’. |
