System developed to ensure the patient is correctly identified before having a procedure carried out.

Correct patient identification

The correct identity of the patient must be known before any activity occurs
- Making sure the patient is correctly identified is the responsibility of all staff involved in the activity

Accurate patient identification involves a number and combination of different processes:
- Active methods, the patient is involved
- Identification band
- Photo identification
- Patient documents related to the activity
- Devices / treatments / products labelled for the activity
