Introduction to Safety and Quality Principles is an online package developed to improve staff awareness of:

• safety and quality principles
• organisational specific safety and quality processes.

The package is designed for use by all staff and consists of:

• an online education package
• a checklist of organisational specific safety and quality processes (completed in consultation with a manager)
• instructions for managers.  (for health services to tailor).

A pilot project to evaluate the effectiveness of the package was conducted in a number of metropolitan, regional and rural health services in late 2006. Feedback from the pilot project has been used to guide changes to the package, which is now available for use.
