Consumer leadership - development program

Page contents: Background | Reports

Background

The VQC Consumer Leadership Development Pilot Program involving 18 participants commenced on February 6 and ran until October 2008. An initial three day workshop introduced the key concepts tools and resources that would be used throughout the program.

The program aimed to develop consumer leadership and effective participation in health care and included action learning workshops, a peer support network and mentoring, and an evaluation component that ran concurrently with the education component.

A report on consumer leadership is available.

Current Status
The program is now complete and the VQC are in the process of evaluating its future.
For further information about the project please contact Ann-Maree Baker on 9096 1380 or email ann-maree.baker@dhs.vic.gov.au
