Acute Pain Management Measurement ToolkitPage contents: Acute Pain Management Measurement Audit Tools | Acute Pain Management Measurement Toolkit & Appendices The Acute Pain Management Measurement Toolkit (APMMT) has been developed based on evidence of current best practice in pain assessment. The APMMT aims to assist health services to measure the effectiveness of acute pain management at an individual patient and wider system level. The APMMT will facilitate consistent and effective measurement of acute pain that will result in improved implementation of timely and effective treatment for patients as well as in a reduction in adverse events, thus improving quality of care and clinical outcomes. Copies of the APMMT were disseminated to all Victorian health services. In late 2007, the VQC conducted a project to support 20 public and 5 private health services to implement the APMMT. The final project report (link directly to PDF of report - Improving Acute Pain management: A report on the Victorian Quality Council's Acute Pain Management measurement Toolkit Implementation Project (779kb, pdf) ) and a range of resources developed by participating sites can be accessed via the APMMT Implementation Project page.
