About Council

The Victorian Quality Council was established in 2001 as an expert strategic advisory group to lead the safety and quality agenda for Victorian health care services. Council members were selected based on skills and abilities to ensure activities are relevant and useful to the field. VQC consults widely with a range of recognised experts when developing projects and tools to assist health services implement quality and safety initiatives.

Highlights of Council’s first two terms included:

Following an external evaluation of the VQC, the Minister for Health approved the Victorian Quality Council’s third term in June 2008.
