Pressure Ulcer Point Prevalence Surveys (PUPPS)

In 2003, the Victorian Quality Council conducted the first state-wide survey of the prevalence of pressure ulcers within Victoria’s acute and subacute health services. The VQC conducted another survey in 2004 (PUPPS2) and then handed over to the department who produced the PUPPS 3 report in 2006.
Recommendations from the PUPPS Reports have led to:

• Development of Pressure Ulcer Basics – two online education programs
• Development of the Pressure Ulcer Clinical Indicator Data Set
• $2million funding for a state-wide mattress replacement program
• Development of consumer information brochures
