Registration Boards
In Victoria, there are twelve health practitioner registration b oards that operate under the Health Professions Registration Act 2005. These boards are independent, self-funding statutory authorities.
The primary purpose of the Health Professions Registration Act 2005 is to protect the public by providing for the registration of suitably qualified health practitioners, the investigation of the conduct and fitness to practise of registered health practitioners and the issue of guidelines and standards relevant to the profession.
